Urban Entry 2: New Neighbors

Description of this movie from the film’s website:

"New Neighbors" begins by with the story – and 1964 Impala – of a man describing the challenges in his neighborhood. The surprise is that he lives in a suburban neighborhood. This 15 minute DVD helps groups understand gentrification and the suburbanization of poverty – the demographic shifts that are happening in their city and community. Using the example of a suburban church and drawing on the experience of urban ministry veterans, "New Neighbors" is a great way to start conversation about how Christians and churches can reach out to their cross-cultural neighbors. Bonus materials include an invitation to start a suburban immersion experience and interviews and teaching to help groups think through gentrification.
